Connecting Instagram to Brand Embassy syncs all your public posts and the comments under them.

Our support can enable syncing of mentions. If a user uses @brandname we will sync such mention on both post and comment levels.  However, keep in mind that we only actively look at the 30 newest mentions. Any older will be synced only with new mention activity. 

You can also sync Dark Posts (sponsored advertisements). We will show you how on the bottom of this article, but please contact our support team as a first step ;)

IG TV posts are currently not supported (not syncing to BE).

Connecting the channel

To connect an Instagram profile to Brand Embassy, the profile must be a Business Account and linked to Facebook. You will also need to have administrative rights to the account. See how to convert your page to Business account here. 

In the settings/social channels click the Instagram button

Through “Connect with Instagram” you will log in your Facebook profile. Continue by clicking on “Create a Channel”.

You will be asked to choose from the Instagram accounts linked with your Facebook profile. Hence why the Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook page to which you have Administrator rights.

Choose a channel from the and click create.

Back in the settings, you will see that the channel is authorized and data started syncing.

Dark posts

Once enabled by the support team, you will find a “Create Dark Post channel” button in your Instagram settings. That’s because we sync Dark Posts as a separate channel.

Once you click on the button, you will see a list of accounts which you can connect. Choose from those the one you want to sync, and simply click create. :) Make sure that you have the admin rights on the FB business manager, otherwise, you won't see the channels for dark posts.

 The channels will be then visible on your Social Channels list.
